People are more likely to remember a story than statistics. And people make choices and take action based on what they remember.
According to Joseph Campbell, scholar of comparative mythology, there is a story structure, The Hero’s Journey, which underpins every enduring story, from ancient myths to modern blockbusters. We can use this structure to bring storytelling into our marketing, presentations and pitches, to draw our audience in and motivate them into action.
By the end of this workshop one day workshop for up to eight participants, you will discover how to:
• use stories to encourage an emotional connection with your audience and draw them towards your goals.
• structure a story to have maximum impact and inspire the listener to action.
• know what details a story needs, and what to leave out.
• grab the attention of your audience in the first thirty seconds.
• use language and tone to keep your audience engaged.
